In this Throttle House video, the 2022 Dodge Charger Jailbreak goes up against the Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance in a Drag Race Special with guest star Chris Harris from Top Gear. Since Chris smoked Thomas and James in the previous video, they are back for revenge, and brought out one of the fastest cars on earth.
On paper, it looked like the Lucid would slap the Jailbreak hard, and it does. The Lucid has the power advantage. Its dual electric motors make 1050 hp compared to 807 hp from the Jailbreak’s supercharged V8 ICE. The Jailbreak does have a 679 pound weight advantage, made even greater because both Thomas and James were in the Lucid, while Chris was by himself in the Jailbreak. However, it wasn’t enough to make up for the fact the Lucid had way more power.
The Dodge Charger Jailbreak is among the fastest gas powered ICE cars you can buy. But even in the hands of Chris Harris, it was no match for the Lucid Air GT Performance. Dodge has recently announced that all their future muscle cars will be electric. If you can’t beat them, join them.
