Tesla Model X P90D Supercharge Road Trip To Las Vegas

In this episode of the Dot Com Life Vlog, I take the Tesla Model X P90 on an electric road trip from Orange County to Las Vegas by using the Supercharger stations along the way. Total cost of electricity came to zero. Go to love that!

When Tesla first introduced their electric car, “range anxiety” was a big concern. Customers were worried that they would run out of battery power in the middle of nowhere and be stuck. Those worries no longer exists thanks to Tesla’s network of Supercharger stations.

The Superchargers can add 170 miles of range in only 30 minutes. We charged the Model X at the Barstow and Primm Supercharger stations. While in Vegas, I’ll be using the Las Vegas Superchargers.

Currently, Supercharging is free for all Tesla owners. That will change in the new year. Tesla vehicles purchased in 2017 will include 400 kWh of free Supercharging credits per year. That’s good for about 1000 miles of free travel. Go beyond that and you’ll have to pay to use it. Tesla did not say how much they will charge to use the Supercharger but did say the fee will cost less than the price of filling up a comparable gas car. These changes will not impact current owners or any new Teslas ordered before January 1, 2017, as long as delivery is taken before April 1, 2017.
