‘Broke’ Amber Heard Stayed In This $22,500 a Month Mansion During Her Trial with Johnny Depp

By now you may have heard that Johnny Depp ended up as the overall winner in his defamation battle with his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Johnny won $15 million (reduced to $10.35 million because Virginia capped punitive damages to $350K) while Heard won $2 million. Final tally, Heard owes Depp $8.35 million.

After the trial, Heard’s attorney, Elaine Bredhoft, announced the actress absolutely can not afford to pay the damages, and said she intends to appeal the verdict. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Amber Heard is worth negative $6 million. In other words, she’s broke.

Amber Heard is proof that no matter how much money you make ($10 million between 2013 to 2019), you can be broke at any level if you can’t control your spending. For example, Heard was living in this $22,500 a month mansion during the trial.

According to TMZ, who claimed to have a copy of the rental contract, Heard (or someone who really likes her) is paying $22,500 a month to rent a 13,000 square feet, 8 bedroom 10 bath house in McLearn, Virginia.

Rental records on the listing do not include Heard’s name, but they show that the property was rented on May 4, 2020. Neighbors have reported Heard was seen at the home with her daughter and Heard’s security detail. The house is a 25-minute drive from the Fairfax Country Courthouse where her trial played out.

The house sits on an acre of land and sports a tennis court, a home movie theater, eight bedrooms, and a pair of sweeping staircases in the entryway. It’s not a bad place for a broke person to chill out. We should all be this broke.
