Bugatti unveiled the Centodieci back in the summer of 2019 as a limited-edition homage to the Bugatti EB110 (Centodieci is Italian for “110”) supercar from the 1990s. Well, after 4 years, the first customer car is ready for delivery.
You might be wondering why did it took four years for Bugatti to deliver the first Centodieci. After all, the car was based on the existing Bugatti Chiron, which has been in production since 2016. The reason is Bugatti puts its custom built cars through the same rigorous testing and evaluation program as its regular production cars. That means 186,000 miles of high-speed testing. That’s a pretty crazy thing to do for a 10 car run, but when you’re paying $10 million for a car, you expect it to be perfect.
Powering the Centodieci is a tweaked 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W-16 engine that makes 1,577 hp, 97 hp more than a standard Chiron. Performance is mind blending. The car will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.4 seconds, 0-124 mph in 6.1 seconds, and 0-186 mph in 13.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 236 mph, which is lower than the Chiron’s governed top speed of 261 mph.
The unnamed customer taking delivery of this Centodieci also owns an original EB110, and he wanted his new car to matched his old one. The Centodieci was painted in EB110 Blue, a variation of the blue on the EB110. To complete the exterior look, the wheels were done in the same finish as the customer’s EB110. The interior of the Centodieci is also inspired by the EB110, and took around 16 weeks to complete, including one whole day just for the seats.
To take delivery of his new car, the customer flew his EB110 to the Bugatti factory in Molsheim, France, so the two cars can meet each other for the first time. Check out the photos and video.
