Making money on YouTube has never been easier. Just like anything else, time has to be spent getting set up. The objective of this post is to teach you how to get started with making money on Youtube. What are the things you need to get set up? They are:
- Picking a niche and affiliate offers
- Creating the actual channel itself
- Customizing your channel
Let’s begin
1. Picking a niche and affiliate offers
This is very important as it helps build both credibility and authority. While you can be a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ type of video marketer, it’s better to have laser focus. Select a niche and create videos that are relevant to it. Some niche examples would include:
Of course you can segment these markets into smaller and more specific niches; however, you should know that the smaller and more specific you get, the harder it may be to find affiliate offers to promote. If you’re worried about not being able to find something to promote, then start by picking an affiliate network and browse through the available products. To do this, you can start with the main affiliate networks: clickbank, commission junction, and share a sale.
2. Creating the channel itself
When creating and naming your channel, you have a few options. You can either name it after the niche you’re focusing on, or brand the channel with your name. Which is better? That’s for you to decide. I know a lot of people in the dating niche on youtube and a lot of them don’t want to branded with the things they are selling.

3. Customizing your channel
Now the fun begins. On youtube, you have the unique opportunity to be as famous as you want to be. Nothing is going to stop you from creating videos and getting views. There are 3 things that every channel must have:
- A custom background
- Animation
- Sound
- Captions
- Filled out descriptions
If you don’t do these things, then your videos are going to be, what I call, average Joe bobble head videos. Keep in mind that we’ve been watching tv, movies, and shows our whole lives. Our expectations for good videos are high. When you combine all of these elements, you’re giving your viewer the best experience possible. When they have a good experience with one or more of your videos, they esteem you as a leader.
When you’re esteemed as a leader, you start making money on youtube, building your list, and creating a massive fan base. What would those things mean to you?
