Children's Festival

The Vancouver International Children’s Festival opened yesterday with a VIP reception for media and sponsors at Vanier Park. The event included performances from some of the talents appearing at this year’s festival, including the master of the unusual, Michel Lauzière.

The Vancouver International Children’s Festival mission is to provide the finest quality performing arts programs to young people in an environment that encourages critical thinking and a lifelong interest in learning, ideas and cultural exploration. The Vancouver International Children’s Festival has been educating, entertaining and inspiring young audiences since 1978. The Festival has been emulated around the world, helping to enhance the reputation of Vancouver and Canada as a leader in the presentation of performing arts for young people.

The festival runs until May 24 at Vanier Park. See http://www.childrensfestival.ca for more information, tickets and show times. If you have children, you will not want to miss this festival. Here’s a video from last night’s Michel Lauzière performance. He’s damn good!
