Sky Cruise – Nuclear-Powered Sky Hotel Is Coming To A Future Near You

Sky Cruise is a nuclear-powered luxury ‘flying hotel’ that could stay airborne for years at a time, carrying 5,000 guests. If physics and aerodynamics didn’t exist, then this vessel might actually be able to take off.

The high-flying Sky Cruise concept is a ginormous airplane that’s as big as a cruise ship that’s able to stay constantly airborne thanks to its 20 nuclear-powered engines. Don’t worry, this thing is totally safe! The creators of this fantasy ship envision 5,000 guests arriving by passenger planes that dock with it.

With a nuclear reactor powering the engines, the Sky Cruise would be able to stay in the air for years at a time. If you want to check out a nearby destination that the plane is flying over, you just hop onto a plane that’s inside this plane and fly down.

The Sky Cruise concept is the creation of Berlin-based science enthusiast and video producer Hashem Al-Ghaili. He created an extremely realistic video of the Sky Cruise, which was originally conceived by concept artist Tony Holmsten. Check it out.

Once the Sky Cruise is cruising, passengers can enjoy the views from many viewing decks, with the best view coming from the disc-shaped observation tower built on the plane’s tail. The massive ship will also have cinema halls, theaters, game rooms, shopping mall, and pretty much anything you’ll find on today’s modern cruise ships. You can even get married on it.

The ship will be steered by artificial intelligence, which Al-Ghaili claims would be so adept at reading weather conditions that it cannot only predict turbulent weather but also glide over it, providing a hassle-free experience for the onboard tourists.

Al-Ghaili believe Sky Cruise could become a reality by the 2030’s or 2040’s at the latest. I believe that’s possible as well, if we live in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (they had a flying aircraft carrier, after all).
