Putting Money Ahead of Family

On this episode of Driving with John Chow, I ask is money more important than your family? For many people, the answer appears to be yes.

I talk about the situation with Toyota moving their headquarters from Orange County to Texas, and how most of the employees will move there even though most would rather stay where they are. Given the prospect of continued employment vs. the uncertainty of finding another job, most will move to a state where is cold when the wind blows from the east, hot when the wind blows from the west, and a tornado when the wind blows from east and west.

The solution of course is to live the Dot Com Lifestyle, and be employable like me. Then you’ll never have to put money ahead of family, and you get to decide where you live, instead of some faceless corporation that only cares about money.
