Most of you know that I’m a pay per click master expert. Â I’ve written about it over and over. From time to time I like writing about some of the things that I’ve been working on but today I’d like to talk about something that I found online a week ago. Â For this reason I have written this post reminding your to pay attention to details with online marketing.
The other day I was doing some research for a client in the hosting industry when I came across this ad:
I was a little taken back when I saw it, thinking it was a joke. Â Do you see what I’m talking about? Â Check out his neck, it’s been crappy photoshopped. Â Its the little details that companies need to pay attention too. Â The company in this ad appeared in our top 25 hosting companies a month ago. Â How could they make this mistake? Â It’s simple, they weren’t paying attention to the details.
How to Pay Attention To Details:
1. Â Don’t just slap a face on a banner, check to make sure it looks good.
2. Never put more than 5 bit words on your banners.  People can’t process more than that.  I recommend having 3 words that describe your product but no more than 5.
3. Â If you’re paying $15 per click, make sure to triple check whatever you put out. Â If you’re putting up PPC ads, have a few people check them. Â I’m a PPC master and still have a buddy check everything I do. Â He does the same for me. Â It’s a great way for us to catch the little things like above before they go live to the world.
4. Â Don’t go off or fire people that make mistakes. Â Let them learn from that. Â I’ve forgotten to pause ads and lost $1000’s of dollars in a couple hours. Â Bet you a nickel that I’ll never forget that again!
Bottom line is that you really need to pay attention to all the little details. Â You’re a real business and need to act like it. Â Good companies will make mistakes all the time. Â Learn from them and don’t let them happen again. Â That will make you a much better company!
