Seafeast For Two

We’re in Seattle today so we decided to head down to the Crab Pot to try their world famous Seafeast. The seafeast takes a variety of fresh seafood, steamed with spices then pour it out on the table on butcher paper, give you a mallet, bib and let you go at it.

The Crab Pot isn’t exactly what you would call fine dining. It’s more like messy dining at its finest, which would explain the bib. There are no cutleries to speak of except for a craw breaker, a mallet and a wooden block to smash crabs on.

Before we got to feast however, I ordered up some raw oysters on the half shell. Sarah didn’t have any so it was all mine! 😛

The seafest we ordered was call the Westport. It contain Dungeness crab, snow crab, shrimp in the shell, steamed clams & mussels, Andouille sausage, corn on the cob and red potatoes in their jackets. The whole thing came in a big tin pot. After the contents are dumped on the table, the pot serves as the trash can for the shells.

Eating at the Crab Pot is a lot of fun because you don’t have to worry about making a mess – that’s to be expected. It’s really too bad that Vancouver doesn’t have any Crab Pots because I think they would do very well there. The nice thing about dining at the Crab Pot is it’s very reasonably priced. Dinner for two came to just $62.00 with tips.
