We have made it to Big Bear Lake to welcome in the New Year, and man it’s cold here! It’s a drastic change from the 80+ degrees we were experiencing last week in the Mexican Riviera.
Big Bear Lake is a small city in San Bernardino County, California, located in the San Bernardino Mountains along the south shore of Big Bear Lake, and surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest. The population is only a little over 5,000 people. However, during the ski season, which is right now, the actual number of people staying in or visiting the greater Big Bear Valley area regularly surges to over 100,000.
I rented a 4,000 square feet, four bedroom, house for our winter wonderland adventure. It’s located right next to the mountain where we’ll be skiing tomorrow. The house features a pool table, hot tub, and pretty fast internet. It will serve as a nice home base. Here are a few pics. Look for more tomorrow. Happy New Year!
