In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a game of blog tag running throughout the blogsphere. The game is pretty simple; you write five things about you that most people don’t know about and then you tag five other bloggers to do the same. I was tagged by Chris Sandberg.
Here are five things you may not know about John Chow.
1 – One of my best friends in high school was Terry Driver. He grew up to be the Abbotsford Killer. There are rumors that I provoked him into becoming a serial killer but I assure you, it’s completely untrue.
2 – A long time ago in China, some friends and I were throwing some rocks over a fence of trees. It was just a little game of who can throw rocks the furthest. After about five minutes of rocking throw, a rock came flying back at us! This was followed by another rock, then another. What started out as a friendly game of who can throw rocks the furthest turned into a full scale rock flight. We never did find out who was on the other side of the trees. As far as I know, no one got hurt in the battle but the rumor is I killed a family of pandas. That is not true – no pandas were harmed in the great rock fight of China.
3 – My first job was at MacDonald’s. I lasted 4 hours before quitting. My second job was at the call center of a carpeting cleaning business. I lasted 4 weeks before getting fired. My third job was selling car audio at A&B Sound. I lasted 7 months before getting fired. I have never worked at a job since.
4 – When I was in high school, I use to steal student’s lunch money playing Three-Card Monte. This is a card game played with two Jacks and a Queen. The object is to find the Queen after I mixed the cards. It’s seems simple enough but the truth of the matter is it’s a con game. The only person who wins is me and my team. I think this was when the “Root of all evil” thing started.
5 – One time while doing the Grouse Grind, I pissed off a bunch of grinders by passing them backwards. I’m sure they wanted to beat me up but they were too tired. To add insult to injury, when we got to the top, I did a video commentary on the people we passed.
Now it’s time to tag some fellow bloggers! Stephen Fung, Ed Lau, Carl Nelson, Jon Waraas, and Bob Buskirk. Tag, you’re it!
