A bunch of vintage Lamborghinis made it out to South OC Cars and Coffee. There was a Diablo, a Murciélago, and a Countach. I got a good look at the the Countach, the only Lamborghini not named after a bull or bullfighting.
The Countach got it names from the reaction of a Lamborghini employee upon seeing it for the first time. He shouted, “Countach!” The word comes from the local Piedmontese dialect expressing wonderment or wow. There is no direct, literal translation to English but the closest expression of the word in english would be, “Holy shit!” I guess it’s a good thing they used the Countach name instead of the english expression for the US model.
