The sun is about the set on the Lamborghini Huracan. The replacement is just around and corner, and Lamborghini decided to send the Huracan where no supercar has gone before – off road.
First unveiled back in 2019 as a concept, the Sterrato signaled Lamborghini’s intentions to make a more adventurous Huracan. It didn’t take long before reports of a production version started. Now Lamborghini has released the first official teaser of what could very well be the last of the gas powered Huracan. Its replacement will be a hybrid.
The Huracan Sterrato rides 1.85 inches higher than a normal Huracan. The extra height is, of course, needed to go where no supercar has gone before. Bespoke 20-inch wheels attached to wider front and rear tracks ensure traction when the going gets slippery.
The Sterrato is based on the Huracan Evo and uses the same 640 hp naturally aspirated V10 engine, complete with AWD, torque vectoring, and all-wheel steering. To give the supercar a more rugged look, the Sterrato features roof rails and rugged plastic body cladding tacked onto the fenders. The extra lights at the front and roof scoop will make the Sterrato stand out among the sea of supercars.
The number of Lamborghini owners who will actually take their Sterrato off road is probably less than the number of owners who will take their Lamborghini to its top speed. You’re more likely to see the Sterrato on Rodeo Drive than the Rubicon Trail. However, the fact that you can hit the trails is what makes it cool, even if you will never do it.
