Mate Rimac, the founder of electric hypercar maker Rimac Automobili and EV powertrain supplier Rimac Technologies, has delivered their fist customer Nevera.
“After 5 years of development, over 1,000 people in the project, 17 prototypes produced, 45 crash tests, 9 cars destroyed during crash tests and thousands of other tests – today the first Nevera is regularly registered. For now in Croatia and soon in many other countries. Here’s more of that plate, even with a stamp. It will be interesting to see them soon on the charts of Monaco, UK, USA, Germany, Japan, Canada, etc.” – Mate Rimac
The first customer car is a turquoise painted Nevera with Croatian license plates so we can assume the car with to a local client. While it doesn’t look like it, the customer did ordered a custom plate for his new ride. The “2360 NM” after the “ZG” is a cool reference to the Nevera’s peak torque of 2,360 Nm (1,740 lb-ft).
So who is the first customer of the Nevera? The even money bet is it’s Mate Rimac himself. Now that’s he’s a billionaire, he can certainly afford it.
With the road registration of this car, the Rimac Nevera officially becomes the fastest accelerating production car in the world. Sorry Tesla. The Nevera is powered by four electric motors making 1,914 hp and can do 0-62 mph (0 100 km/h) in 1.97 seconds, 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) in 9.3 seconds, the quarter-mile in 8.6 seconds, and the top speed is 256 mph (412 km/h).
The motors is powered by a 120-kWh battery pack that can take up to 500 kW of DC fast charging and go from zero to 80% charge in just 19 minutes. The estimated WLTP range is 341 miles (550 km).
The entire run of 150 Nevera has been sold out, so it doesn’t matter if you have the €2 million ($2.1 million USD) asking price. You can’t buy one. Not new anyway.
