Cruising Aboard The Disney Fantasy

The Disney Fantasy is a $950 million cruise ship owned and operated by Disney Cruise Line. Part of The Walt Disney Company, the ship entered service in 2012. The Disney Fantasy currently sails seven-night Caribbean cruises. Her sister ship, Disney Dream, was launched in 2011. Disney Fantasy is the fourth ship in the cruise line. A fifth ship is currently under construction.

The ship is designed to reflect the glamour of the golden age of cruising during the 1930s, that lend to the Art Nouveau style throughout the ship. Structurally, the Disney Fantasy is almost identical to Disney Dream, with gross tonnage of 130,000, a length of 1,120 ft and a width of 138 ft. Disney Fantasy has 1,250 staterooms, and can carry a maximum of 4,000 guests, and a crew of 1,458.

Additional features, such as on-board services and amenities, are mostly similar to those on Disney Dream. Disney Fantasy has included the popular AquaDuck, matching the one on the Dream, being the first water coaster at sea. The Nightclub District, called Europa, features a re-imagined and expanded Skyline Club. The Tube, La Piazza, O’Gills Pub and Ooh La La, all adult only lounges, are all new to the Fantasy. The shows in the Walt Disney Theater include Disney’s Believe, Disney Wishes, and Disney’s Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular.

Disney Fantasy is based at Disney Cruise Line’s terminal at Port Canaveral, Florida. The ship embarks on alternating Eastern and Western 7 night Caribbean cruises, and will call on Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.
