How Long Does It Take To Make $5 From AdSense?
Have you ever wonder how many webmasters make money online with Google AdSense? Sometimes, it looks almost too easy – place some Google ads on a blog and watch the money roll in. In reality, it doesn’t quite work this way. As a matter of fact, if the stats I got are any indication, very few people make any money online.
For the past month and a half, I have to making use of Google AdSense’s referral program to generate additional affiliate income. Google’s affiliate program gives you $5 once the site you referred makes $5 in AdSense earnings. They have 180 days to make this $5. If they don’t do it within 180 days of signing up, you lose out on your $5 finder’s fee.
The Sobering Stats
So far, I have signed up 135 websites to Google AdSense, which works out to about three new sign ups per day. Out of the 135 sites, only three has made the $5 conversion threshold. That’s really sad when you think about it. Out of 135 sites, 132 haven’t even made $5 yet.
Luckily, Google does give 180 days for these sites to make their $5 so I can be paid. As the months goes by, all the sites should cross the $5 barrier. At least that’s what I’m hoping for. Unless the site shuts down, I cannot see how it is possible to not make $5 from AdSense in six months. My feeling is these sites will convert. It just may take a bit of time.
How Long Did It Take You To Make $5?
Google AdSense referrals can add some nice online pocket change. Each sign up is worth $5 to me. At three signs up per day, that’s a potential $450 extra per month. At first, I thought this wouldn’t be a money maker because I figured everyone and their dog had signed up to Google. But the fact that I’m getting three new sign ups per day would seem to indicate that Google hasn’t taken over the world yet. I’ll keep you posted on future progress.
In the mean time, I want to know; how long did it took you to make your first $5 with Google AdSense? Hopefully, it was less than 180 days.
