The Fedex man dropped off my maxed out Apple Macbook Air today. This is the fastest and most expensive Air you can buy. The 13.3 inch Air weighs in at only 2.9 pounds and looks impossibly thin. If you add a handle to it, you can use it as an axe and cut people up for Halloween.
I’ve only played with the air for a few hours but so far, the experience has been awesome. The solid state drive is amazingly fast. Boot up time takes only 14 seconds and it wakes up from sleep mode in less than a second. This air will be my new trade show computer and it’s near perfect for what it does. I went with the maxed out config to make sure I can process movies and photos on it.
At $1,799, a maxed out Macbook Air isn’t cheap but it’s still cheaper than the original Macbook Air that Neil Patel gave me a few years ago. I’ll have some comparisons between the old and new Air later. I’ll have more to say about the new Air once I have more time to play with it. For now, here’s an unboxing video that I processed using the Air and uploaded to YouTube. The new Macbook Air comes preinstalled with iMovie 11 and offers 1080P upload so this is a 1080P unboxing.
