Who’s idea was it for the mailman to not deliver door to door anymore? One of the first things I noticed about Seattle is that the house doesn’t have a mail slot. Instead, the mailbox is on the street with a bunch of other mailboxes. This saves the mailman time and I guess the post office money since their people don’t have to walk as much.
Normally, walking to the mailbox to pick up your mail isn’t a problem. However, the driveway in this house I’m staying at is a quarter mile long and getting the mail is like doing a morning workout. I guess I could drive but then I would feel silly telling people I have to drive my car just to get the mail. Maybe I can use the 1/4 mile driveway as justification for buying a Segway. Think the wife will go for it?
